Call Time
The student call time for the trip is 5:30am on Thursday, April 12th. When you arrive, you'll immediately begin your luggage check with SHS administrators and meet with our trip nurse, Mr. Tobin, to hand in any medications.
Bus/Chaperone Assignments
Bus and chaperone assignments will be posted on Tuesday, 4/10. Students are responsible for knowing the bus they’ve been assigned to and the name of their chaperone before their arrival on Thursday morning!
Student Equipment Helpers
Some students will be assigned to move certain pieces of equipment and luggage. Students will be notified by their teacher in class if they have been assigned one of these important roles.
What to Bring
We recommend you pack the following (although this list is not exhaustive!):

What to Bring

- Instrument (if you are a member of the band)
- Music folder
- 1 carry-on (size of a backpack)
- 1 suitcase to stow under the bus
- 3-4 days of clothes
- Nicer clothes for your music clinic and the orchestra concert (polo shirt, slacks, blouse, skirt, etc.)
- Toiletries
- Jacket and/or umbrella
- Sunblock
- Medications (to turn in to the trip nurse)
- Schoolwork from classes you will miss on Thursday and Friday
- Electronic devices (phone, iPad, etc.) and chargers
- At least $15-$20 spending money per day

We're excited to officially announce the 2020 Stoughton High School Music Trip to New York City! The Music Trip is available to all current members of the following ensembles:
Concert Band
Symphonic Band
Concert Chorus
Treble Chorale
Symphonic Choir
Tuesday Jazz Band
Jazz Choir
General Information
The trip will take place Friday, April 17th through Sunday, April 19th. Students will travel to New York City on deluxe coach buses and stay in first-class hotels. 3 breakfast buffets and 3 dinners are included in the cost of the trip (lunch each day will be on your own). Students will see many of the attractions and major cultural landmarks of Manhattan, including the 9/11 Museum, Times Square, Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, Metropolitan Art Museum, Staten Island Ferry, and a Metropolitan Opera performance of Puccini's Tosca!
Music Clinics
Students will have the opportunity to work in their instrumental/choral ensembles with the music faculty at New York University and Westminster Choir College. These faculty members are well-known conductors and music educators who have a lot to offer our students as a resource of musical skill, knowledge and inspiration!
How much will it cost?
The Music Trip will cost approximately $580 per person, but POPS will offer a subsidy of at least $25 for all students (final discount to be determined in January). Trip cancellation insurance can also be purchased for a small fee.
How do I sign up and get more details?

Trip Cancellation Insurance
There are 2 types of optional trip insurance available:
- Basic Trip Cancellation Insurance - $15. This plan guarantees a refund of the trip cost for some specific reasons. Click here to read more about what circumstances are covered under the Basic plan.
- "Cancel for Any Reason" Cancellation Insurance - $22.50. This plan guarantees a refund of the trip cost for any reason at all (e.g. if a scheduling conflicts comes up, if a student loses Good Standing at school, or even if the student simply changes his/her mind and decides not to go). Important - even with "Cancel for Any Reason" insurance, notice of cancellation must be given to John Mange, Director of Fine Arts, no more than 7 days before the beginning of the trip.
